The Mid-Town Hotel on Tulane Avenue, perhaps best known for its terrible yelp reviews and surrounding criminal activity, has new owners. M&S Hospitality has been running the show at the 102-room hotel for the past couple years and just purchased the place for $1.7M, City Biz reports. After making "substantial improvements" to the hotel, the new owners plan on starting a franchise arrangement with a national hotel. It's no secret that the avenue's stretch of seedy motels have been a hotbed for hookers and drug dealers (and the crimes that go along with such activities), but many eyes are focused in this direction as the BioDistrict could urge a Tulane Avenue clean-up.
