Rouses Plans To Buy Closing-Soon Home Depot Building

New, 11 comments

Rouses, a Louisiana-based supermarket chain, is planning to scoop up the closing-soon Home Depot next door to its Mid-City store on Carrollton Avenue. It's a pretty smart move to make sure another grocery store doesn't get crammed in that corridor (Winn Dixie is directly across the street), but the head-honchos are pretty hush-hush about any concrete plans. The Curbed tipline has been buzzing with Target rumors, but nothing is confirmed in that department. Managing partner Danny Rouse told The Gambit that they will renovate the 55,000-square foot building once they know who's moving in. So, do tell — What do you want to see in this space?
