City Council approvals and proper licensing are still needed, but the Lower Garden District may be getting a new brewery and taproom. The Uptown Messenger reports that the Coliseum Square Association is cool with The Courtyard Brewery setting up shop in an Erato Street warehouse. Zoning already allows for a brewery on the premises, but City Council will have to okay the taproom. It's already been decided that there will be no go-cups, as one neighborhood association member was fretting about them being a "potential source of litter." But wait, before another go-cup/war on culture brouhaha flares up, the brewery owners are actually cool with this decision, preferring that their guests guzzle the brew "as it was presented," anyway.
