Boarded-Up Lower Garden District Home Asks $429K

New, 3 comments

This back-on-the-market property is perfect for a confident buyer with a padded bank account, hungry for a piece of that LGD pie. Sure, there's a lot going on along this stretch of Magazine Street: Crossfit is moving in, Courtyard Brewery has big plans, and blighted eyesores are being transformed into $2 per square foot rentals. But is a $429K asking price pushing it for a place in need of a total renovation? Built in 1913, there are eight bedrooms, five-bathrooms and this property sold for just $19K back in 1995. There's not much info available on the 4,140-square foot space and there are no interior shots but the boarded windows are a pretty good indication of what you're walking into (bring a flashlight to the showing, perhaps?). Interesting, though, this multi-family/commercially zoned home was listed over the summer with a different realtor for $345K.
