Things are moving right along in phase one of the Iberville housing projects demolition, which started in September. Crews hope to wrap up the initial stage by the end of the year as they incrementally clear out all but 16 of the 75 units in preparation for a mixed-income development in the newly coined Iberville-Tremé neighborhood, right outside of the French Quarter. The end result for phases one and two on the 23-acre site: 81 public housing units, 49 workforce units and 97 market rate units by December 2014.The market value homes are rumored to be targeted toward doctors and other medical professionals, as this is all within walking distance to the also-under-construction VA/LSU Medical Center. — April Siese
