Louisiana Music Factory Will Have New Home On Frenchmen St.

The Louisiana Music Factory, a French Quarter retail spot known for its collection of local music and free shows, will be moving to Frenchmen Street. Offbeat Magazine head honcho, Jan Ramsey, says she's kept the news to herself for long enough and "the store will now complement the location of Offbeat," which is upstairs. The Decatur Street building that currently houses the Louisiana Music Factory sold in August for $1.5-million and the new owner said it will eventually be turned into (surprise, surprise!) condos. The previous tenants of the Frenchmen Street location, The Junque Shop, moved out last month and after some gutting and reno work, the Music Factory should be setting up shop around February 2014.
