Famous Architect Added To Airport Design Team

New, 3 comments

The New Orleans International Airport just bumped its design cred up a notch. César Pelli, touted as one of the most influential living architects, will be on the design team for the airport's $650 million expansion project. No stranger to New Orleans, Pelli designed the St. Katherine Drexel Chapel at Xavier University. He also designed the TWA Terminal Building at JFK International Airport and the World Financial Building in New York City. The plans for the north side of the terminal are the next step in getting New Orleans a "world-class airport." The pre-Super Bowl renovations earlier this year added a slew of new restaurants and shops along with fine touches like, oh, better lighting and numbered baggage terminals.
