French Quarter Taggers Deface Home Built in 1789

New, 1 comment

Madame John's Legacy, one of the few structures in New Orleans to survive the great fire of 1795, was no match for some tagger kids, NOLA Defender reports. The house at 632 Dumaine St. is listed as a historic landmark so the penalty is a bit steeper than oh, throwing some graffiti up on an abandoned warehouse. The culprits were caught on video and defaced at least nine other properties in the French Quarter. We're not condoning any sort of vandalism over here, but come on, bad art and it's on a beautiful piece of 18th century architecture?
