Culture in Kenner

Kenner doesn't usually conjure up thoughts of culture or the arts, we know (insert "Kenna' brah" joke here), but the Rivertown district is now one of the state's newest cultural districts. This means original works of art can be sold tax-free (there's only one gallery so far) and there are tax credits for property renovations. The desolate stretch of the former downtown, "its own open canvas," if you will, has big dreams of becoming an artist colony. [nola.com]
