With all the riverfront development brouhaha going on it's easy to forget about New Orleans' other waterfront, and City Business' Greg LaRose says Lake Pontchartrain needs some love, too. He's not suggesting building hotels and condos, but says "it's the natural setting that's the draw." Obviously, this wouldn't be a snap of the fingers transformation (levees, publicly owned land, "not in my backyard" protests) but it gets the ole' brain churning. And zoinks, from the tourism industry angle, what if this was something to lure folks out of the Quarter? [City Biz, sub. req.]
