Bummer alert: a dogtrot Creole Cottage in Mid-City, one of the last of its kind, was approved for demolition. This leaves only 12 homes of this once-popular architectural style in New Orleans now. Dogtrot dwellings have a center breezeway (where the dog could be heard prancing around) with two equal-sized rooms on either side. [PRCNO]
