Real Estate Agent To The Stars: 'Celebs Fascinated With N.O.'

New, 3 comments

It's not breaking news, but even BBC is talking about the booming film industry in New Orleans. Since 2002, state tax incentives helped lure the movie folk down and last year 61 feature films were shot here. As a result, there's more of a celeb presence, even if it's just part-time (Sandra Bullock), hardly ever (hi, Brangelina!) or a business venture (Channing Tatum and his Bourbon Street bar, Saints and Sinners). "Celebrities become fascinated with the city while they're working and then want to have a place here," Dorian Bennett of Sotheby's, told Curbed. A real estate agent to the stars, he's sold property to Nic Cage, Lenny Kravitz, Taylor Hackford and Helen Mirren, and Jimmy Buffett. It's been said celebrities are drawn to New Orleans because they're left alone here (read: minimal paparazzi, if any) but that doesn't mean the rumor mill churns any less about possible new neighbors – Solange, we're looking at you!
