A corner store was a hot topic at a City Council Housing and Human Needs Committee earlier this week. Issues concerning blight, illegal signage, blaring speakers, drugs, and 25 reported crimes in the past six months were brought up. "The neighborhood refers to it as the million dollar corner because so many drugs are sold there," a member of the St. Roch Improvement Association said. "The people on the streets say that corner will never get shut down because there's way too much money being made there." [NOLA.com]
