Gated Community Offers New Lots; City Slickers Won't Love It

New, 1 comment

English Turn, a West Bank gated community on a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, is offering up new lots for the first time since 2006. Once home to celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, old NFL player/coach Mike Ditka (and didn't rapper Lil' Wayne post up there for a while, too?), things got a little rough last year. The Advocate reports there were 46 homes on the market and only 16 sold. With its sprawling estates – the average English Turn house is 4,200-square feet – and some over-the-top homes, English Turn's real estate specialist and broker, Glenn Mediamolle admits the area isn't for everyone. "If you're a city slicker, you're not coming here," he says.
