The party just doesn't stop – here's another downtown redevelopment for those keeping count. This one's at the Gertler Building at 127-129 Carondelet Street in the CBD, homebase to the Gertler law firm until this past spring. The James Gallier-designed building will be called Gallier Court and have eight apartments with a 1,990-square foot restaurant or retail space on the ground floor. There will be three floors of rentals with 600-square foot one-bedrooms and 1,100-square foot two-bedrooms. Rental prices aren't set in stone yet, but stay tuned. Local attorney Josh Gertler is the developer and told Curbed, "I'd love a strong local restaurateur or retailer to occupy the space and cater to the flourishing CBD neighborhood. We are talking to a few interested parties, but nothing locked down yet." Milkfish, a local Filipino pop-up restaurant, was apparently interested in the space but according to their kickstarter page, didn't reach their $25,000 goal.
