After years of sitting on the market with its $2-million price tag, the triangular building on Howard Avenue in the Central Business District will be transformed into 18 luxury residences. It sold last month for $1,525,000 and according to The Times-Pic, the proud new owner (William Legier, a local accountant and real estate investor) was eyeing some other properties but "the location, history and quality of the triangle building made it an attractive buy." His lips are sealed on a construction budget for the 16,500-square-foot building, but interior demo work to turn the former offices into one and two-bedroom apartments should start in March and wrap up by the end of the year. Back To The Garden restaurant is currently on the ground floor of the building and the new plans do include a restaurant space.
