The Curbed Cup Neighborhood of the Year is Bywater!

It was a close race with a few nail biting moments for those keeping a close watch on the back-and-forth final face-off, but Bywater came out ahead against the Irish Channel to win the ultra-prestigious Neighborhood of the Year award. Bywater started as the number four seed, beating out the Lower Garden District then Bayou St. John before the Irish Channel match-up where it claimed the Curbed Cup with 52.5 percent of the vote. Whether it's Bywater's new-found status as a dining destination, its colorful eye-catching housing stock, or the general vibe of the downtown 'hood that made it the big winner — congrats are in order. Thanks to the 379 voters in the final round and all who played along the way.
