Garden District Home Knocks $125K Off Asking Price

The owner of this 4,300-square-foot Garden District spot clearly has "Sell House" on the top of the New Year to-do list — there was a $125,000 pricechop yesterday, bringing the price down to $1,225,000. This isn't the first time the four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath Philip Street home has shaved some dollars off the ask. It came on the market in August for $1,440,000 and in mid-October, shortly after we pitted it against another Garden District listing in a Real Estate Deathmatch, there was a a $90,000 pricechop. What gives? Perhaps the original ask was straight-up overpriced? Is the matching seafoam green bedroom and bath killing the vibe of the otherwise gorgeous house? Or are the modern touches too much for a home built in 1865? Readers, weigh in.
