John McDonogh School No. 11 has been moved three times in the past three years and now that it's in its forever-home the future use of the 1879 structure is still up in the air. "The school was originally slated for demolition to make way for the upcoming University Medical Center, being built at the school's initial location on the 2000 block of Palmyra Street. Thanks to the work of preservationists, the school building has been saved — but the state has yet to decide how to use it, according to Greg Dupuis for the Louisiana Division of Administration."
