Historic Baronne St. Building Will Be Event Space

New, 1 comment

The old New Orleans Bicycle Club headquarters, an Uptown building from the 1890s, is getting some love in the form of a much-needed restoration from Cedric Martin of Martin Wine Cellar. The Uptown Messenger reports that Martin plans to eventually turn the Baronne Street structure into an event space with a kitchen. Crumbling and proposed for demolition in 2010 (but now rocking a shiny new paint job), the entire third floor had to be rebuilt before the roof could even be touched. First on Martin's to-do list, though, is his site across the street — rebuilding the adored Wine Cellar in its original location, which should be open by September.
