This Rental Thinks It's The 'Coolest House in the Quarter'

Surely, this isn't the dingiest vacation rental out there, but it is perplexing why anyone would think they could get away with calling this place "the coolest house in the Quarter." Oh, Craigslist. For $100 a night (unless there's a special event going on) guests get a queen-size bed, a day bed in the living room, cable TV, a "stereo system," internet access, and there's a washer and dryer in this stand-alone house on Dauphine Street. Not too shabby...on paper. A closer look reveals some sort of pelt hanging on the wall over the bed; the kitchen has an unexplainable creep factor; and the grainy photos showcasing clutter aren't doing this place any favors. But this place has the "true feel of New Orleans," the ad says. Of course, it does — in the form of random instruments hanging from the walls, over-sized Mardi Gras beads straight out of a Bourbon Street tee-shirt shop, and jazz musician wall hangings that drunk tourists buy because they're "sooo N'awlins."
