Look Inside The Second Most Expensive House On the Market

New, 4 comments

Attention Saints superfans, neighborhood name-droppers, and general high rollers: Yesterday, the second most expensive listing in town hit the market on ultra-posh Audubon Place, a private street near where New Orleans' quarterback-in-chief, Drew Brees, lives. Asking $5,250,000, the "stately Queen Anne home" has four bedrooms on the second floor, another three on the third floor, and seven bathrooms. If that's not enough roomage, there's a game room (no word if Ms. Pac-Man and the pinball machine come with the place) and how quaint, a "craft room," which looks like it could double as a kitchenette. Of course the 8,568-square-foot pad has a "gourmet kitchen" (good news for the catering staff during the Uptown socialite parties!) with granite counter tops, a double oven, sub-zero fridge, and a wine cooler. The outside isn't lacking in the perk department, either. There's a slate patio, a heated inground pool lined with fancy Italian tile, and brokerbabble steals the show with the yard description: "Beautifully landscaped grounds include lush gardens with organically grown citrus trees and grapes." This isn't the first time this home has been on the market in the past few years, if zillow's records are correct. It sold in 2002 for $2,837,500 then for a very confusing $400,000 in 2009. A month after that it was listed for $4,950,000 before being pricechopped to $4,500,000, and then yanked off the market in 2010.
