Empty historic structures around town are getting some love in the form of "heart bombs," homemade valentines delivered by preservationists. Melioristica, the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans' urban adventure group, has been all over town heart bombing in an effort to bring a little attention to buildings that people probably pass every day without a thought. The ultimate goal of the V-Day tradition that started in Buffalo, New York: "to get people talking about vacant and/or blighted structures in their neighborhoods which will hopefully lead to getting them back into commerce, improving quality of life for residents."
