Those looking to nab a dirt-cheap fixer-upper or a vacant lot are in luck. The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority has released a fresh batch of properties — over 140 of them! — and they'll be hitting the auction block March 29. The properties are in the Lower Ninth Ward, New Orleans East, Holy Cross, Gentilly, St. Roch, and Lakeview neighborhoods and there is no minimum bid. The big winners do have to agree to fix up or at least start construction within a year and keep the place up to code. If the bidders live next door to the property they picked up at the auction then they can use it for green space.
