In This Week's Episode of 'Will Crescent Park Ever Open?'...

A letter from some Bywater residents to the Department of Housing and Urban Development asking them to step in concerning the years-overdue opening of Crescent Park turned out to be a case of barking up the wrong tree. According to The Times-Pic, HUD isn't overseeing the $30-million riverfront redevelopment; the State Office of Community Development is and they "agree with the City that the ultimate quality of the project is more important to the recovery of the city than the speed of completion." The most recent hold up for the will-it-ever-open park was last week's dirty dirt fiasco, which should be remedied in 30 days. Until then, we wait.
