It's official. The New Orleans Arena, a concert venue and home to the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans, is now the Smoothie King Center. While it's not the most sophisticated sounding name for an arena, perhaps this goes along perfectly with The Pelican's terrifying, yet laughable, mascot, Pierre? Anyway, signs are already going up and there will be two 20-foot-tall Smoothie King cups at either side of the main entrance, all just in time for the NBA All-Star Weekend next week. No word on what the price was for the 10-year naming rights agreement.
