The development limbo, question mark status at the former Six Flags site in New Orleans East will continue after the outcome of today's meeting with the selection committee. The Times-Pic reports that the two groups, both with separate Jazzland theme park-oriented plans, need more specific financial layouts and cash commitments before either of the proposals can move forward. No word yet on the reaction to Transformation Village's plans for a 450-foot Noah's Ark replica. While last year's plans for an outlet mall bit the dust due to competion from the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk, a shopping experience might again get preference over Jazzland. An earlier report from The Advocate mentioned the city expanding its request for proposals search and hitting up the International Council of Shopping Centers convention in May.
