It's a done deal. This 4,600-square-foot Magazine Street house Uptown is now officially off the market and the owners of the French Quarter gastropub, Sylvain, plan to convert the 1880s structure into a restaurant. The five-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath digs hit the market last year with a $990,000 ask and was price chopped to $910,000 in late summer 2013. Zoned as a commercial and residential spot, the Duke Morgan Spa was the latest tenant to rule the roost here. The Uptown Messenger reports that so far there's no neighborhood beefs over the plans for "The Manor on Magazine" (in true New Orleans fashion, the neighbors were more concerned about what's going to be on the menu) and parking woes were nipped in the bud as 24 off-street parking spaces will be available through neighboring businesses.
