A block from the boom of the South Market District construction, plans are unfolding for a five-story hotel at the corner of Baronne and Julia Streets. A tipster passed along these images, the work of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple architecture firm, but before hopping into a "what hotel could it be?" guessing game this project still needs to score a few thumbs-up, starting with today's meeting with the Architectural Review Committee. Plans for the 150-room hotel with a penthouse and rooftop deck include some demo action— a two-story building that's used for parking at 740 Baronne St. and a covered parking shed. As always, stay tuned!
