Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,200/month.
On Martin Luther King Boulevard in Central City, this 765-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bath apartment is less than a block away from the up-and-coming development action on Oretha Castle Haley. This place was recently renovated and has a washer/dryer, security system, and a private backyard.
↑ Micro-living hits Magazine Street with this 300-square-foot attic apartment Uptown which, thankfully, has a 100-square-foot "treetop deck." There are new appliances, including a dishwasher and a "3/4-size fridge" (so don't go too hog-wild at the nearby Whole Foods), and a washer/dryer on site. No smokers and no pets.
↑ This one-bedroom, one-bath furnished apartment on Touro Street in New Marigny is going for $1,195 (and is actually $995 for the non-furnished option). There's a charming shared courtyard with yard service included, 995-square-feet of living space, tile floors throughout, a dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Smokers and pet owners are out of luck here.
↑ In Bywater on Congress Street, this 810-square-foot single built in 1864 has one bedroom, one bathroom, and a brick courtyard out back. Rental perk: central heat and air!
↑ This rental is half of a Broadmoor double home on S. Derbigny Street with two independent bedrooms (so no awkward roommate walk-throughs here), one bathroom, and 950-square-feet of space. Apparently there's a "nice patio area for entertaining" but it's not pictured here. The rental has central heat and a/c, plus ceiling fans. No pets allowed.
