Another day, another house that sold for over its asking price—will this be a new "thing" for New Orleans' real estate scene as house hunters battle it out for their must-have abodes? The numbers surrounding this Bayou St. John home don't quite touch the Uptown place that went for a whopping $200,000 over ask, but fetching $20,000 more than the listing price is still nothing to sneeze at. The brightly colored, just-renovated digs on St. Ann Street hit the market on March 21 with a $367,500 price tag and after the first showing, the broker tour on March 26, we're told offers were coming in within the hour. A tipster, whose asking price offer was rejected, wrote, "I'm assuming it went for either all cash or over asking." and well, now we know. The 1,648-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath dwelling sold for $387,500.
