When this Uptown dwelling on the exclusive gated lane of Audubon Place hit the market in January with a $5,250,000 price tag, it launched right to the number two spot of most expensive homes for sale in New Orleans. Now, after a $5 million sale, the 8,568-square-foot pad holds the title for the priciest sale of the year (so far, at least) City Biz reports. The "stately Queen Anne home," comes with seven boldly-colored bedrooms, no shortage of chandeliers, seven bathrooms, a game room (no mention if Ms. Pac-Man and the pinball machine come with the place), a "craft room" that could double as a kitchenette, and the requisite gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, double ovens, a Sub-Zero fridge, and wine cooler. Outside, the new owners get to kick back on the slate patio that leads to a heated inground pool lined with Italian tile, and when that gets old they can always go foraging in the gardens for the "organically grown citrus trees and grapes."
