Albert Ledner-Designed Uptown Home Lists for $2,700,000

New, 9 comments

Fresh on the market, here now is a chance to own an Albert Ledner-designed property. The New Orleans born-and-bred architect, a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed this Jefferson Avenue structure back in 1955 for the Unitarian Church, and in another example of a place of worship-turned-high dollar residence, this baby is shooting for $2,700,000. Behind the glass walls of the 8,602-square-foot Uptown spread is a very open floor plan with 26-foot ceilings, a raised dining area, and an elevated room with bookshelves and rolling library ladder. Outdoor perks include a roomy balcony and deck out back with an inground pool. Fun fact: This is the former home of historian/author/professor Douglas Brinkley, who bought this four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath place in 2004 for $1,199,500.
