Jed Lipinski tells the bizarre story of The Lucky Comedy Club this week, which was planned (but never really planned) as a major comedy venue for 1615 Canal Street. The supposed owner/con artist Chris Simon lured many big acts with promises of money, without ever even having a lease for the space. After 'committing suicide' nobody seems to know the man's true identity, but hopefully it was really just Andy Kaufman all along. [NOLA.com]
