The Lower Garden District building that housed Zara's Supermarket before its sudden, unexplained shutter has officially sold but no one's spilling the beans on future plans yet. City Biz reports that the Prytania Street property, which includes the old Zara's spot, the apartments above it, a small parking lot in the back, and the house next door (so, that's ten apartments total) pulled in just over a million dollars. The spaces hit the market back in April with a $1.4 million price tag. The new owners, New Orleans-based neurosurgeon Dr. Najeeb Thomas and Robert Blum, sealed the deal on the buildings last week in two transactions. The former supermarket site pulled in $613,695 and the multi-family house next door went for $430,000.
