Tamales To Try Now, New Orleans Daiq Fest is Back, More

NOLA— Having a tamale craving? It is summer after all, so here's a map of the best places to try a tamale in New Orleans right now.

MARIGNY— This weekend the fourth annual New Orleans Daiquiri Festival lands at 548 Marigny Street with loads of frozen daiqs, live music, food trucks, and even kid-friendly activities.

QUARTER— Globe-trotting megatippers TipsForJesus left a $10,000 tip at Galatoire's last weekend.

NOLA— The Maple Leaf is going smoke-free by fall, and all bars in town may follow suit with smoke-free legislation being drafted by the city at this time.

CARROLLTON— Boucherie will be moving into the just-shuttered Cafe Granada space this fall, and chef Nathaniel Zimet and team will also open a daiquiri/chicken wing shop in the current space.
