SoFAB Museum is First Up For the Facade RENEW Grant

Here's some exciting news for the coming-soon Southern Food and Beverage Museum concerning their future home in Central City. SoFAB will be the very first recipient of the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority's Facade RENEW program, a million dollar grant program designed to give fresh faces to busted building exteriors on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, St. Claude Avenue, and Bayou Road. The museum, joining the OCH rejuvenation after moving out of its previous space in the Riverwalk, will get $37,500 to go toward sprucing up its future home at the former Dryades Market. The 30,000-square-foot building will house the Museum of the American Cocktail, the Leah Chase Louisiana Gallery, and the Gallery of the States. Other coming attractions at the space include a Jenn-Air demonstration kitchen, the Culinary Innovation Center, a museum shop and Purloo restaurant and bar, with the SoFAB Culinary Library and Archive just down the street at 1609 OCH.
