'Faubourg Freret' Mixed-Use Development Joins the Block

The last large undeveloped row of buildings on the poppin' row of Freret Street is entering the ring as a mixed-use property. The stretch of blighted structures in the 4500 block of Freret, which includes the once-beloved former Frank's Steakhouse, has sold to Arnold Kirschman (fun fact: his gramps founded Kirchman's Furniture back in 1914). The development, now going as "Faubourg Freret" will have 13,300-square-feet of ground floor retail space and 30-plus (!!) apartments on the upper floors. Up for grabs are the 6,150-square-foot corner store at Cadiz Street that was once a laundry, and 9,800-square-feet of new construction. Let the Retail Watch begin, what do y'all want to see in this space?
