Green Project's Salvations Celebrates Upcycled Design

The Green Project is gearing up for their seventh year of showcasing upcycled designs from an array of artisans. Salvations is the nonprofit's biggest fundraiser of the year and also a great chance for craftsmen and women to get their work noticed. Over thirty designers have submitted their works to the competitive exhibition, to be held 7pm to 10pm Saturday, September 20th at the Shops at Canal Place.

This year's submissions range from innovative works like a "one way" sign end table to the elegant woodworking of a spacious pedicab carriage. Tickets for Salvation are on sale at their Eventbrite page and range from $60 for members to $75 for non-members.

Salvations features music from Linnzi Zaorski and a smorgasbord of food offerings from the likes of 3 Potatoe 4, Elizabeth's, Cafe Reconcile, and more. Unable to attend the event but still want to check out the furniture? Pieces will be on display at the Shops at Canal Place and online via thegreenproject.org/salvations.

Located at 2831 Marais St, the Green Project has been dedicated to DIY ingenuity and sustainable design for two decades and counting, saving landfills and the environment from over 40,000 gallons of paint per year and countless feet of lumber, tiles, and iron work.
