Back in 2004, a domain name was registered at 1920 Delachaise for Homeless Man Productions. That site now redirects to JWJ Ferguson, aka 2008's Louisiana Filmmaker of the Year. Though he hasn't lived at this Irish Channel home in years, hopefully his creativity will rub off on whoever snaps up this 1,550 square foot Victorian. According to its listing, it definitely needs love — which is where all that creativity will come in handy.
Though he's now living in his home city of Brooklyn, NY, New Orleans as a whole has left an indelible mark upon Ferguson, who acted as cinematographer for 2006's Down in New Orleans and has done commercial work for local jazz label Basin Street Records. 1920 Delachaise provided a presumably spacious working and living space — its current configuration allows for three bedrooms and two full baths.
It's got an open living and dining room and a gorgeous master suite, with hardwood floors throughout the home as well as a laundry center. A definite perk of the area is the surrounding community gardens both next door and across the street. Asking price? Just $175K.
