What's going on at the old Dixie Brewery? A meager attempt to save its facade in the name of preservationism. The structure is indeed becoming the Dixie Brewery Research Building after lengthy legal battles with its owners who wanted to return the building to its previous boozy glory. Crews now have nearly two years to complete a comprehensive overhaul that includes tacking on a large and imposing building — that really mimics the other medical buildings — behind the brewery facade. Construction is set to finish in 2016.
