Learn About CBD Landmarks at NOPL Exhibit

The New Orleans Public Library is turning its third floor into a fascinating exhibit of the CBD then and now. From Common & Basin to Tulane & Loyola: 150 Years of Change in Our Neighborhood provides an in-depth retrospective of the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, Pythian Temple, and Duncan Plaza. Charity Hospital and Rampart St will be touched on as well.

The exhibit runs from today through Spring 2015 and is presented by the Louisiana Division/City Archives. Those deeply interested in the Pythian Temple's storied history need only wait for September 17th for Keith Weldon Medley's detailed presentation about its pivotal role in African American advancement at the turn of the century. The presentation will be held Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30pm at the Main Library Auditorium. Hope to see you there!
