Got a favorite revitalizing project that preserves the history of Orleans Parish while also looking towards the future? The Louisiana Landmark Society wants to hear about it. From now until Friday, January 16th, they're seeking nominations for their Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation. Homes and projects outside of the French Quarter but in the parish itself are eligible, with LLS taking a particular interest in green building, use of tax credits, and innovative new designs that highlight a historic district's character. It goes without saying that they're looking for the rehabilitation of restoration of older buildings. What is truly something to celebrate about the 2015 awards is its push for diversity in the preservation movement. Nominees will enjoy an awards ceremony in April. Head to the Louisiana Landmark Society's website to make your voice heard.
