What $1,500/Month Rents You in New Orleans

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,500

↑ According to Zillow, the median rental price in New Orleans is $1,500, which is actually kind of horrifying. To alleviate our (and your) stresses, Curbed NOLA has drummed up a smorgasbord of rentals all across the city and all at $1,500, including our first entrant to the proverbial rental ring, 2202 Adams St. This three bedroom, one bath home is just a short bike ride away from Tulane and Loyola. It includes standard appliances as well as a washer and dryer, with all utilities paid. $1,500 a month gets you 1,100 square foot home not just pandering to students but perfect for anyone with their eye on Uptown.

↑ Ah, yes — a recently renovated home with nearly everything except paid utilities. 7425 Mayo Blvd has a bathtub with jets in it, surround sound capabilities, and an actual working fireplace. It's a cozy four bedroom, two bath located near I-10 in New Orleans East. It's also the only rental that allows pets on our list. $1,500 a month gets you the largest home on our list at 1,769 square feet.

1215 Annette St #A is really pushing that New Marigny name with New Marigny prices. Located in the Seventh Ward, this three bedroom, two bath has an open floor plan with gorgeous ceramic tiles throughout. High ceilings and copious windows allow for space and light to flow freely. The 1,630 square foot home includes a washer and dryer as well as a private courtyard.

↑ This 1,650 square foot home is in the heart of MidCity at 3101 Banks St. Ignore the poor white balance on the photos (unless half this home's walls really are that stark yellow color) and instead focus on the hardwood floors and updated kitchen with granite counter tops and brand new appliances. $1,500 a month gets you a three bedroom, two bath with tons of storage.

↑ The smallest rental on our list by over 1,000 square feet, 7738 Green St #C is apparently betting on its amenities. The fully furnished one bedroom, one bath has all utilities included in its $1,500 a month rent and the home includes "indoor laundry," which may or may not be greater and more refined than "outdoor laundry." Though this Carrollton rental is just 400 square feet, it does include a private patio.
