Real estate Romeo Sidney Torres is back in the news, and not because he bought another thing. FOX is developing a series about Torres' off-duty French Quarter police force, which was recently featured in a New York Times story that painted Torres as New Orleans' Batman.
FOX, which is still in town shooting "Scream Queens," says the series will be about an "enigmatic tech billionaire [who] makes a deal with a bankrupt, dying city to provide a privately owned and operated police force." Torres has since turned over control of the force to the French Quarter Management District, and apparently use of the app associated with the patrol, which figures largely into the FOX series, "has fallen dramatically in recent months." But accurate portrayals of New Orleans have never really been FOX's thing, anyway.
