Musee Conti Wax Museum Closing, Condos May Rise in its Place

New, 1 comment

NOLA.com reports today that the weird, family-run French Quarter wax museum Musee Conti will close its doors at the end of January. What's planned to go up in the museum's place? You guessed it: more condos!

Developer Jonathan Weber of Harry Baker Smith Architects want to create 16 high-end condominiums at the space that would include a "central courtyard, covered parking, balconies and access to a private pool." They have submitted these plans to the city.

The Weil family put the museum on the market in 2013, and they hope the wax figures—depicting life-size vignettes of Louisiana history—could still have a place in the redevelopment.
