City Council approved Via Latrobe, Sean Cummings' Bywater mixed-use project, unanimously at its meeting yesterday.
The 260-unit apartment building, which is planning to include 23,000 square feet of commercial space and artist studios, got the council's OK. Parking was an item of contention with earlier iterations of the project, but Cummings has agreed to provide 349 spaces and not bundle parking with rents.
"Now that we know we have permission to create this remarkable project, we will begin designing it tomorrow," Cummings said through his spokeswoman in an email.
