It's Still a 'No' for the CBD Moxy Hotel, Says Architectural Review Committee

The Moxy Hotel just can't win it seems. After the Historic District Landmarks Commission's CBD Architectural Review Committee shot down the plans for the planned CBD hotel in October, today CityBusiness tells us today the hotel got a "no" from the ARC yet again.

This is the third try for property owners Barry and Lorraine Dinvaut and Campo Architects to get plans for the Marriott branded hotel approved. Even after presenting revised plans, the ARC is still concerned with the "mass" that would be created by the addition to the current one-story building. They also said the design needs to be further back from St. Charles Avenue.

There's still hope for the project when it goes before the full HDLC for its approval, however. Is this the hip hotel that could, or a project that's doom to fail?
