Although people are already using it, the Lafitte Greenway officially opens tomorrow with a press conference from Mayor Mitch Landrieu and other city officials.
By all reports the 2.6-mile linear bike and pedestrian path stretching from Mid-City to the French Quarter is not completely done—the lack of landscaping, for example, makes it rough when the sun is at its peak—but that hasn't stopped people from using the path and its nearby amenities. The press conference will be held, weather permitting, tomorrow, Nov. 6, at 10:30 am. at the corner of N. Galvez Street and St. Louis Streets.
