Only in New Orleans would there be a tounge-in-cheek awards ceremony honoring the most blighted property in a neighborhood. Last year, the satirical South 7th Ward Home and Garden Society bestowed the top honor at the "Cat's Claw Award Gala" to a crumbling property at 1387 St. Anthony St. Now this notorious 7th Ward property has a new owner.
In an effort to keep the city from demolishing the property, which was a store at one point, local real estate investors Alex Tan and Lance Theard of T&T Real Estate Development, LLC, bought the property and have listed it for $149,900.
It'll be interesting to see what becomes of this famous eyesore.
